2018 Ukraine 1 oz Gold Archangel Michael BU
Issued by the National Bank of Ukraine in 2018, this one ounce Gold Archangel Michael is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and housed in a protective capsule. With a mintage of only 1,500 coins, the 2018 issue is among the scarcest years of the series.
The design side shows the Taxiarch Archangel Michael with wings spread and sword drawn, one of the most honored figures of the Bible, known for his victory over evil and as a patron of warriors, the sick and the suffering. Around him runs a line from Taras Shevchenko's poem Haidamaky: "For us are the souls of the righteous and the might of Archangel Michael." The other side carries the small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the emblem of the National Bank of Ukraine, two griffins flanking a hryvnia within an octagonal cartouche, with the 20 hryvnia face value and 2018 date. Struck in .9999 fine gold, this coin contains one full troy ounce of gold.
