2018 Great Britain 1 oz Gold Queen's Beasts The Bull BU
Struck by The Royal Mint in 2018, this one ounce Gold Queen's Beasts The Bull is the fifth release in the celebrated ten coin Queen's Beasts series, featuring the Black Bull of Clarence. It is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and housed in protective packaging.
The series draws on the ten heraldic beasts that stood guard at the 1953 coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by James Woodford RA and reimagined for the coins by Royal Mint designer Jody Clark. The reverse shows the muscular Black Bull of Clarence rearing above a royal shield bearing the lions of England and the fleur de lis of France. The bull was an emblem of Edward IV, the first Yorkist king, and of the House of York, who traced their descent from Lionel of Antwerp, Duke of Clarence. Struck in .9999 fine gold, this coin contains one full troy ounce of gold.
