2014 W 3/4 oz Gold Kennedy Half Dollar 50th Anniversary Proof
Struck by the United States Mint at West Point in 2014, this three quarter ounce Gold Kennedy Half Dollar commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy half dollar, first issued in 1964. It was the first time the US Mint struck a coin in this weight, and the only gold coin in the 50th anniversary program. It comes with its original US Mint box and Certificate of Authenticity.
The obverse restores Gilroy Roberts' original high relief 1964 portrait of President John F. Kennedy, with LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and the dual date 1964 2014. The reverse shows Frank Gasparro's heraldic eagle from the Presidential Seal, ringed by stars, with the W mint mark and the inscription 3/4 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD. Struck in .9999 fine 24 karat gold with a proof finish.
